Syllabus Classes (Solos & Duets):

The Contemporary Showcase Syllabus is available online at www.acnmp.ca.
Own choice selections are admissible provided they are by Canadian composers.
Pieces using contemporary idioms are encouraged.
The syllabus is a guide; substitutions are permitted.
Students may play 1 or 2 pieces;
2 pieces are recommended for Pre-Grade 1 to Grade 5.
In Duet classes, students may only choose 1 piece for all levels.

Classes are available for all ages, levels & disciplines.

Featured Composers Class:

This class features music composed by specific Featured Composers. Click here to see this year's featured composers.
Students may play 1 or 2 pieces. 

Anniversary Commissions Scholarship Class:

To celebrate our 25th Anniversary, commissions were arranged for new student level works to be written by 8 Alberta composers for piano, voice, cello and saxophone. Click here for more details.

Joyce Oliver Alberta Composers Class: 

This class encourages exploration of music by Alberta composers. 
Students may play 1 or 2 pieces. 

Creative Music:

This class offers students a chance to perform their own composition.
A quality performance is expected though the feedback will focus on the composition itself.
Students must email a PDF of their composition by the registration deadline to scheduling@csedmonton.com.
Students may play 1 composition only.

Master Class:

Registering for a master class is a good option if you have prepared longer works.
Total maximum time with the clinician is 25 minutes per entry, including performance time.
Canadian works are preferred but other contemporary compositions are accepted.

Mini-lesson:

This class gives students (and their teachers) an opportunity to work with a clinician on a contemporary piece.
Students could receive guidance with contemporary interpretation or have a lesson on a work-in-progress.  
Students may choose either a 15 or 25 minute session.
