Graded Classes

Syllabus Class (Solos & Duets):

  • The Contemporary Showcase Syllabus is available online at www.acnmp.ca.
  • Own choice selections are admissible provided they are by Canadian composers.
  • Grading for own choice material should be as found in Conservatory Canada or Royal Conservatory Syllabi.  If it’s not listed in a syllabus, the teacher may estimate its level.
  • Pieces using contemporary idioms are encouraged.
  • The syllabus is a guide; substitutions are permitted.
  • Students may play 1 or 2 pieces;
    2 pieces are recommended for Pre-Grade 1 to Grade 5.
    In Duet classes, students may only choose 1 piece for all levels.
